mechanics always overlook minor stuff. go straight for the big dollar work I.E. head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, rebuilds:eek:
from what he told me, sounds like an icm or coil problem, maybe an alternator or starter silinoid problem. Something electrical though.

Have you made sure the connections to the ecm are clean and plugged all the way in after taking the car too these two mechanics? Unplug the orange wire by the battery before messing with it. If you have any buddies with an extra ecm plug it in and see what happens. :)

Well i can tell you havent had the probs ive had. Been in the engine 3time, redid the trans 6 times. As of now i have 20,000 in the car, and it hasnt even had the interior done. Take this advice if you dont take any other(TAKE YOUR CAR TO SOMEONE WHO HAS ONE, OR MORE AND RACE THEM ON A REGULAR. I am on the way to pickup my car in the morn, its been at Freds Performance since 8-6-07, he had to go thru the whole setup, because they had a non-turbo crank in the car, and the trans was causing it to over rev. Oh yeah 3turbos in a 30 day span, they wouldnt cover them because they said something was going thru them, come to find out that the last guy put on used headers, but charged me new price for them, and they started to rust and blow the turbos. All i can say is that Fred doesnt rape you on the cost of doing your car, and he is very reasonable compared to any of the other so called Buick pros.

I asked him that, he said he did try another ecm.

I have a simple fix...sell it to me for 1000. LOL...No more headaches.

hey guys, I really appreciate all the responses, alot of people offered to come and help me with the car, so what I am wondering is do you guys all want to come over one day or just one of you come over, how do you guys want to do this? thanks again.
Jeff

That would depend on how much beer you are buying.

I always got a few boys with me, just how we do it. but we need each other for the following reasons:

1. talks alot of shi* & loves the dewalt grinder
2. loves to buy alot of shi* & talk alot of shi*, 2 at a time:rolleyes:
3. is the brains:rolleyes: but really dont know jack......:o
4. is just a funny motha:D

and maybe a few chicks, lets just make it a party....

but I agree with Gary, the more beer, the more people show up!! with all the brains around here, you'll probably be doing wheelies broken trans or not!!

Let me know where and when. I don't know if I'll be able to make it (family comes first you know) but I'll try. I'm down in San Diego so let me know if you have a time frame because I'd love to help fix a Buick and meet some local guys. but I'm guessing it'll be a bit of a drive for me. I love beer. james
