I cannot argue the quality aspect as I have not tried them. However, everytime we buy products made in Asia or anywhere else we have less people working here.It is simple we buy more from from them than they buy from us:confused:.Their is a reason we have people holding hands in the unemployment lines:rolleyes:

that is true, but even Snap-on is making some of there products overseas. it is rumored the dual 80 ratchets are assemled using overseas parts. they dont even put "made in usa" on them anymore. alot of there toolboxes were made in Canada until recently when they closed that factory. i still love my Snap-on tools, but i will keep my options open.

They look nice but for warranty you probably get into a lot of shipping issues or are the dealers somewhat local when you have an issue?

Canada is practically our 51st state, so buying from them is ok.

I dont know about that one :p.

I normally buy Snap-On, I try to keep the people in this country working. I went to harbor freight a couple of weeks ago but only got a couple of stupid things that are probably going to get lost anyways . I would imagine that Japanese tools are pretty damn good, eons past any other tool made in asia I'm sure.

i almost cried the first time i used them, they are just soo pretty.:D they are leaps and bounds above most tools i have used in the past. too bad craftsman tools took a nose dive. they were such a strong brand for soo long. i also picked up some SK goodies which are really nice tools still. they were purchased by Ideal and i hope they keep up the SK standards. long live SK Superkrome!!!!

Ryobi bought out cracksman about 8 years ago....:frown: Cordless tools that is... No Clue on there socket sets... I do like SK.......

i have some oldschool craftsman sockets and they are better quality than the new stuff. the new ones arent even chrome plated anymore, just nickel plated. what a shame. the raping on an iconic brand.

SK is bankrupt,we have been told another company bought their assets:rolleyes:.We cannot get warranty on anything not in stock:mad:

they are back now with Ideal. hopefully they will be a player again. i got some sockets and a ratchet from ebay, so warranty is not a big issue. i have never broke a 1/4" socket or any socket come to think about it.

hello people: IMO if you a pro tech. you need the best tools you can get and you also need to replace one ASAP. So the snap-on tools are expensive but you do have there trucks around to take care of you. Maybe a tool truck carrying the tools your talking about is in the future?
nice tool
