This almost messed up my basket of popcorn. I have run (still have in a box) JL chips. Never had any issues whatsoever. I just upgraded with the new tech of the day.
Jay your patience is admirable.

I think when offering an opinion (you GTracer) it should be left at one post for everyone to read. Who cares about retort. When you come back in to defend your position, you look like you get bent over.
LOVE THE SIG BEOTCH!

wow ok so this went from every ones 2 cents on a chip burner to to some ones ego probleme if you really wanna know im and electronic mechanical engineer for the canadian military vehicles no and officer i work for a living i under stands the inner working of a chip and all the tables that need to go togeter and work hand in had to have a well functioning vehicle my question wasnt either with joe or eric burns the best chips im asking if is this chip a good idee or should i wait on a a tt chip im asking cuz i dont know either of the dudes and i had never herd about of a joe lubrant chip and i dint wanna end up with a fly by night ebay special making my car run worse then with stock chip stock injectors and stock turbo

Joe was one of the original chip guys along with myself, Bob Bailey and a couple of others. Joe originally did all of Red Armstrong's chips for many years. Joe also had a 9 second street car.. Im not sure where that ended up. I think Dan Strezo bought it but I could be wrong. Joe is a good guy.... we spent many a hour talking on the phone about chips and Buicks in general. Dont know what GTRacer has against Joe.. Im sure he's some troll thats been banned before and came back under another name because as far as I know, Joe has been out of the game for quite a few years.

You got nothing to lose trying it if its close for your combination. Be mindful of the timing at WOT tho on pump gas. Gas quality has gotten much worse since 1987. When I was actively doing chips, which hasnt been for several years, I had my street chips backed down to 16 degrees of timing. Stock they were 23 I believe. If that chip has some age on it, which Im sure it does, it may not like much over 15-16 PSI without alcohol.

NEW FORUM RULE: All new threads about chips must be posted in the political section.

First clue would be" GT Racer" is not a name you normally see in the Buick community.

Probably every chip maker has made an enemy somewhere. I had a few guys tell me not to buy Jay's chips but I ended up buying 3 and kicked their butts.

Got a few chips from Joe and liked the octane recommendations he gave for race chips. About had a heart attack when I made my first run with one of his chips and about halfway down the track the "check engine" came on. If I remember correctly that was programmed in the chip to signal that the convertor had locked up.

Bought lots of Extender chips for both myself and other Okies. Best run I ever had until this past year was with an Extender alky chip running straight 101 at 23#'s. 11.0 @ 123 MPH with a PTE 61. Text book run.

I had read Grumpy's results with Melissa's car and had to try a TT chip. When I saw the SD chip, I was hooked as I've wanted to be able to tune my car on my own. I've found that the combo of Powerlogger and the SD chip work well together and I've learned a great about my engine and how it works.

I've never had a bad experience with any of the chip makers mentioned above so OP I'd say try the chip and as Bison says
"If in doubt, over octane".

sounds like GT racer is HansonGN,remember "dumb as question" thread??? Skidman.

Na.. GTRacer is Canadian. Im sure its a former member thats registered a new account because Joe has been out of the chip game for a while and this guy just registered in 2011.

Ill be in Toronto this summer most likely. Maybe he'll be interested in coming and meeting me and my ego up close and personal.
