A few mentions, just FYI:

-A guy mentions his GN in the readers mail section (says a GN's not a Hot Rod, ed. disagrees)
-A 12.8 sec Typhoon gets a small feature
-There's a nice '81 Regal GN look-alike, except for the 468 V8 and blower sticking out of the hood. Cool car though.

Thought it was cool to see the representation. SC's get mentioned even less than TR's, so I have to live vicariously through you guys. ;)

I disagree on the not a hot rod statement. Any car can be a hot rod (exept a rice mobile) if it is fast as hell!!!!!!!:D

i agree with the guy saying a gn is not a hot rod. when it think of a hot rod i think of 20's, 30's or 40's era cars w/ a V8 in them. a gn i would consider a modern muscle car more than any thing.

That's what I think of at first too, but just for kicks I looked it up, the definition fits any car:

hot rod also hot-rod (htrd)
n. Slang
An automobile that has been rebuilt or modified to increase its speed and acceleration.

People were doing it in the 40's, they probably figured a hot rod was a model A only, or similar cars. Times change and so do the cars used.

Yep, Hot Rod is going to start featuring more import cars they say. I think they may just be jumping on the bandwagon, but that's where most of the performance efforts are coming from these days. 10 or 20 years from now it'll be even harder to get basic American muscle than it is now in the used market since there aren't many cars like that being made right now to keep the numbers up. I guess they're getting ready for that.
