What were you doing when it broke? I broke a made in USA 60 plus year old Charles Parker vise made right here in Meriden CT but I was trying to use it as a press to press in wheel studs in a set of axels. I believe I got quite a few done before mine let go

Was straightening out a steering stem on a quad. Not hammering just leverage with a 3 ft bar.

Jump on craigslist and buy a good old used USA made vise. Next time try some heat first on the part it might save you another vise. I think I was using a bar too if I remember right. I knew what I was doing was pushing my luck with my vise

I got one from some blacksmithing shop or something like that - 35 years ago.
It was probably 50 years when I got it.
The thing is indestructible.
In the inevitable alien apocalypse - I'm sure it will survive intact.

Damn! You do a nice job of tearing up stuff....almost as good as I do!

I was given an old vise that was made in 1926 and came out of an old truck shop....guy didn't want it anymore....so far, this is the best vise I've ever had....best, strongest, most relievable vise in the world..still used everyday..........heavy as hell!......... My 6" Craftsman in my other shop has a small crack in it from tightening something way too much (stupid) But I'm going to use it to it's limit until I'm severely wounded.....then my wife will feel sorry for me while I'm in the hospital recovering and get me a real good vise, the tilt, swivel kind.......

Never saw a vise like yours torn up so well............I'm impressed! Good thing you didn't get whacked by flying metal or bars.......here's some good "advice": get a vise.....
