That's funny.
I heard a story of a self employed person called to serve on a jury. When he told the judge that he couldn't serve because he needed to run his business the judge asked what we would do if everyone were like him. The guy replied, "If everyone were like me we would not need judges or a court system."

Wow, after that, he'll be selected for jury duty everytime its available for him! First time I was called in I had just started a tool truck business, they gave me a 6 month break, and then I had to go in regardless. Went in and wasn't selected. 3 years to the day I got another letter that I had to go back, my boss really didn't want me to go in since he didn't know how to do my job (His either, LOL). I went in and sat there on the first day for most of the day but they didn't select me either. There are plenty of unemployeed people and retired folks that actually WANT to be selected but never are, the ones that don't want to go are called in ALL the time
