Cool. Thanks for sharing. How were the bird numbers? I hope your boy gets hooked on pheasants. Our opener was last weekend. I'm thinking of giving some ducks and pheasants a shot before church in the morning.

Bird #s are through the roof!! He bagged 4 today and our limit is 5 but we saw a ton of pheasant and quail!

Do I sense a bird trip to Kansas

That's awsome! I spent four weeks in SD last year hunting pheasants. Does Kansas have lots of state walk in areas to hunt?

There is a map online if I can find it, plus all my friends and family farm

If I knew my car would make it up there and back I'd come up for a visit Ty. Looks like you guys have a great season ahead of you.

Bring that damn polish Ferrari mechanic and road trip :D

I sure wished I had managed to make it up there with Rusty. I just dont have a lot of desire to go bird hunting this year

Would love to but he wouldn't even drive the 50 or so miles to shoot dove. Doubt he'd even consider it since the twins aren't even a year old yet.

You will recover Al. You really need to get a new pup to work with.

Washington state pheasant hunting is now down to just release sites, except for a few pockets of birds in the south east side of the state. Best way is to pay $125 for 5 roosters that they put out for you. Crazy thought for you midwesterners, I'm sure. I've got a great Gordon Setter that is hatin' me right now 'cause i've been working every weekend for nearly a year. When I'm not working, I'm catching up on honey-do's on both our places. Man I'd love to make a trip to where birds are. As a kid I use to have good trips, but now the farmers are all bringing their fields right to the edges of their property and killing bird habitat. Add to that fertilizers and the poor things just don't have a chance anymore.:frown:
