I just blew my Pt53,What turbo will make the same power but spool faster?
I now have a 200-4r in the car with a Pat's 3500 LU converter,I can only foot brake it to 2000 rpm's.I don't think the converter is loose enough, but i didn't get a chance to install my RJC manuel boost controller yet.

PT 54 or TE 61 are good recommendations w/your stall converter....its a bit high though (3500).....how did it run on the street? You could even go with a TE 45....with that high of a stall....

A CPT61 BB from Cotton's or a PTE6131 BB should make about the same power with quicker spool up.

Good to hear your Cosworth Turbo Vega is running sorry to hear you blew thru your turbo. Did you get the paint done? If you have a chance post some pics would sure like to see what she looks like. Hear the 6131 spools/screams like a banshee on adrenaline!

I'm not happy with the 3500 stall, needs to go back and get loosened a whole bunch.

Your converter is definitely not right.

I had a D5 restalled by Gomez to 3000 stall... It would stall about 3000 or so and then "flash" to 3800 when I launched.. Worked well with my pt52 and a 212 cam but took some high boost launches to get the stall up. I definitely didn't really have enough converter because of the cam, so you really really don't have enough converter.

Your boost should almost be instant with a true 3500 stall.

My converter won't flash over 2600.

My mistake.. I do see that you had PT53 not PT52.. that turbo would spool slower than the 52.. but even so.. your converter still isn't right.

Hate it when that happens.. seems I've never had a "perfect" converter myself. Always on the tight side for me.. but still has been ok on my combos.

CPT-65! If you have the extra cash go BB and spoolup issues wont matter.

I absolutely loved that turbo on my TTA and it whistled like hell. Open the dump and you'll hear it a block away.

With a 3500 stall- just about anything from a 65 to 70 turbo should spool pretty good.especially with a BB turbo.

It says 3500, but he can only foot brake it to 2000! Put a 67-70 on that and he'll hate it if he can't get it to flash higher.

What size is the converter 10.5?

The 65 is a 61mm wheel with a p trim turbine in the larger 4in cover.......

It's a 10 inch.
