First off, hello to everyone!

I am the proud new owner of a 1987 Grand National, and I don't think I could be happier. I just bought it two days ago and I passed up getting a 350z for this thing, and let me tell you, it was worth it.

I bought it for 12k and it has a little more than 100k miles on it. It has all new seals, torque strap, throttle body, rebuilt tranny,360 rear end, and a 5k custom leather interior.

I love my car.I get more looks than some of the porsches and ferrari's around here.

Right now I am just trying to do my research and see what I can do to just attain fast(er) car than mine in the future, because for now, mine is PLENTY fast enough.

I just wanted to say hi.

Hi back and welcome. For research, try reading up all you can on www.gnttype.org . Dennis Kirban has a couple of books out about Turbo Regals also. www.kirbanperformance.com And of course you have this message board as well as a couple of others. Don't go beating the snot out of your GN until you read up on the basics or you may be learning more than you want to right now. (head gasket replacement) Biggest enemy of these motors is knock so be careful.:)

And of course, be sure to support your friendly Buick vendors.:D

Congratulations! Welcome to the TR community. Good luck with the car, and lets see some pics!

Congrats on the new purchase. I just bought my first one in June and it's truly an awesome vehicle. Cars are definitely not made the same way today like they were in the mid 80s.

Definitely read all you can on these boards and at the site mentioned above. I have learned so much and have spent over 2K(parts only - Labor is all me) just getting the car to run properly and safely. The first thing on your list should be a scan tool.

congrats on the purchase, years of fun to come :D Please learn how to put some theft deterrents on the car, way too many go away way to often

hi, welcome aboard, i bet you don't feel like getting of the car huh:D i was the same could'ny sleep etc.etc, and hay as they told you already put some anti theft devices on the gn, people love our cars too much, pepboys sells a steering colom lock that works very good for about $50.00 here's a picture of my baby

Congratulations on your purchase. They are impressive cars to say the least. I have a couple questions for you though.

Where do you live that you are seeing Ferrari's and Porsches in your neighborhood?

Did you get an economy size jar of Vaseline with your GN purchase?

Mark, you drive an 02 Sentra and you think cars aren't built now like they were in the 80's????? What do you find so impressive about 80's vehicles as far as their quality?

Welcome Tyler! Get some pics up of it. I would like to see that leather! Did someone say post a pic of the car! :D
