When that center bumper squeaks it can sound like the windshield is about to pop out. It's befuddling how something so small can make so much noise.

Especially when that's the only squeak or rattle the car makes.

It was pissing me off to have such a tight car and that one noise was one that I couldn't find and was killing me.

Nothing like picking up a chick for the first time with that squeak and finding scraped roads and train tracks left and right!

I only eat red meat!! LOL

It sounds to me like you want the car to be reliable but still have enough ass to lay a smack down on someone if needed.

My advice to that is go the route that I did. I wanted the same thing so I upgraded the fuel system and got the car running really well then added the Alkycontrol system. Now I can run 20psi without knock while running 89 octane. The car can run 24psi with 93 octane but I just don't give it hell that often to need it. I used about 3 gallons of alcohol last year which is t much since the alcohol starts coming on at 6psi then adding in the amount that evaporates. I run it way on the safe side so I can run the 89. I was able to run 17-18psi before the Alky with 93. I think the intake might be fairly restrictive on my car though. That is just a guess though.

The hardest thing to do is stop trying to get more power. It is very very addicting! So if you start, you may not be able to stop. Just remember the first step is admitting you have a problem!

I admit I have a problem... my admission to speed and anything fast came a long time ago. But you are correct, I want to have smackdown power if I want to let loose a little. I have to read up on this alky control stuff, I know nothing about it. I have a lot to learn about these cars.. My GTX was easy... build a 440, match the carb, intake and cam with compression and dyno 503hp.

There is a lot of things to consider with this turbo 6, but I am definitely interested in getting dirty and having some fun.

Ditto!
If you want power on tap alchy is great. I add 30psi of boost with alchy and 87 oct to the stock engine and love it. It's so docile and whisper quiet with the new exhaust you'd never know what power the accelerator can unless when pushed. I keep mine as simple as possible and just force air down it's throat when I want to feel all warm inside :D

KevinS,
Do you have a boost controller or is that a mod that you avoided? I read up on the idea of it and it sounds like a no brainer... any thoughts or opinions?

As you can see in my sig, I run a RJC boost controller so I didn't have to get the HD actuator. The boost can go from 5psi to 20psi in a second. Believe it or not that is somewhat of a drawback too. The instantaneous power tends to break the tires loose so I have to pedal the car up to 20psi so I don't break them loose.

The Alkycontrol system if by far the best money I have ever spent on the car! The dollar to hp ratio is worth every single penny. Julio is great to do business with as well. The most important thing is to make sure your car is running perfectly before doing the Alky! Alky won't help a bad running engine. If done right you won't regret spending a single penny for the kit!
