does this filter have the anti-drainback valve on it. it is the k & n performance gold oil filter part number hp-2001 do any of these k&n filters come with the this feature.....

please get back a.s.a.p. my car is making a funny noise on start-up like a rattle, and i think its becasue i am running this filter and not the pf-52....

please get back a.s.a.p.

I have had terrible luck with everything but the PF-52....It is the only filter I have used that keeps my car from Knocking a bit till the oil has a chance to pump up into the motor.

.....Forget about the gimmick filters, and save your money.....Just stick with Delco Filters.

Bull crap. there are many filters out there that are excellent. I have my bypass closed and hit 75 psi of oil pressure at idle cold and never had a problem with them. The anti drain bck works perfect. The filters I use are AMSOIL or MOBIL 1. they kick but

Glad you said that!

There is a big difference between a regular filter and the very few premium ones. Have seen 5-10 psi increase in pressure at idle with a premium vs. regular, equates to better flow. Cut open a few of the low price ones and see how they are made. How much filtering can be done by collapsed filter media?

For extreme operation and to protect an expensive motor, well worth the few extra dollars in my opinion.

hey turboregal84 like what type of noise would you hear, is it knock for real and is it just for a few secs and then it goes away instantly.get back to m e on this one partner i wanted to know if i am having this problem due to the filter.

but has anyone used or is using a k&n oil filter up on this board.....

also if the oil filter did not have this drainback system what would be the effects upon start-up, and by the way what is this whole entire deal with the antidrainback on these filters is it that vital to the efficency of the engine...

please get back:confused:

Guys..

Did we ever determine if the Purolater Pure ONE filters are worth a darn or not..? I can't get the AC Delco Duraguard Gold (black) filters anymore and wonder what to use next?

I thought that I remembered reading that David doesn't use the Pure ONE filters in the Biggie Filter Kits any more. Anyone know?

Yes...it was a Knock...You know the sound when you have a "rod Knock" that VERY destictive metal to metal noise? That is the noise I am talking about.

I am just posting on my personal experience...not looking to fight with anyone over oil filters.

but would you only hear it for a few secs or you had to wait forthe motor to warm up for a few mins....:(

herb, thats not good man. if the antidrain back valve didnt work you woould here your lifters chatter for a few secs upon startup. I never heard of the knock one. can anyone give opinions here?
thankjs,
Ralph

Nick,
What kind of oil filters do you like??? :)

I do like PureOne and the Ultragold, but should clarify something first. Most of the cars I work on or have worked on are now converted to use the big-block Buick filter - "biggie".

For the original PF-47 cars, I use Mobil 1 filters when the owner want the best. Not available in PF-24 size.

For the race cars with high oil pressure and lots of high RPM, I go with a premium filter like Ultragold and did use PureOne before they were discontinued. Do not like the idea of a "regular" cartridge collapsing or the container blowing out at 6000 RPM! Amsoil also makes a great filter in both sizes. Am trying the K&N premium oil filter also which is made similar to Mobil 1.

gnfanatic i do not hear any chattering from the lifters but more like a rattle type of growl... vey hard to describe sounds on the pc.....
but is the whole point of having the drainback is to keep the filter full of oil when the cae sits so that when the car starts and oi pump pulls oil it will not pull from a empty oil filter when it goes to suck.... is this right or am i just talking crap now....it sure sounds good though....

nick could you also inform me of your progress with the k&n filter if you could tell me if this would be a good choice of filters please... also do you get any noise on start-up with this filter when the car gets started up let say early in the morning please report back with results if posible....:)

I run the biggy filter upgrade and couldn't find the AC-24's at the local auto parts store so I bought the K&N 2003 (Fram PH11 equiv). I hope it's a good filter. Cost me 3 times more than the AC-24 and el cheapo Fram filters did! :(

The K&N should be a very good filter, almost same specs and materials as Mobil 1 filters.

Myself I've been using Amsoil oil and filters. The orig owner was using them I think there sdf23's. I'm happy with them.

what is everyone running with the turbosavers?
right now im using an ac pf35.

are you guys sure the the Pure ones are discontinued? I can still get em at one of many auto parts stores in my area.. Have no problem at all gettin em..
These are the only filters that won't allow the oil to drainback.. at least from what I have tried. Baldwin, ac, fram, atc atc.
