KC valve bodies

What did the KC valve bodies come out of ?? I have a BRF valve body now and want to try to increase my shift points ...

oldsmobile 307cid equipped cars I believe, like a cutlass and such.

Bison turned me on to the KC valve body with a CK performance shift kit in it with the 3-2 shift valve mod. It works like a charm. With TV adjustments I can shift anywhere from ~5800 to ~6200.

The 3-2 valve mod is critical if you want the trans to work properly on the 2-3 upshift without flaring.

There's not much to be gained there with a BRF gov.

6200 is easy to obtain-- he didn't specify what they are now or what he was looking for.

The trans is shifting at 5500 now want it to shift at 6000 -6200

Gaining 1000 rpm with governor mods on a BRF causes some weird issues. Usually a 1-2 shift that is at higher rpm than the 2-3. Excessive kickdown function, etc.

That's why several of us have been using the KC (and in my case the CR) valve body to get the later shifts.
