Kenne Belle air dam removal

I am removing the Kenne Belle front air dam that came on my GN and putting a cold air kit and factory bumper peices back in. I have looked at pictures and can not figure out one thing. Under the license plate is a black metal piece, apprantly to direct airflow towards the lower fan. Is this a factory piece, if not there is a good sized rubber piece it holds up, where does that go?

I can take pictures to clarify what this is, but if anyone know, I appreciate your help.

The metal piece is KB and the rubber piece is factory. The original air dams are like "L". The bottom of both factory air dams "L" goes from the front car tag ( if used) back toward the IC and holds up each side of the rubber piece.
