Fellow TR owners, when you key on your car with the engine still off, which lights illuminate on the dash and go out and which ones stay on? Right now the only one I'm getting is the Fasten Seat Belts light which goes out. On my last drive I managed to make it home on 11.4 volts instead of the typical 13.7ish that I'm used to seeing.

I'm aware that the system will not charge if the Volts light isn't functioning, but I believe the Service Engine Soon light should also remain on as well. Can't remember if there are any others though. My plan of attack is to check the Gauges fuse first. I'm skeptical that it's just the Volts bulb since I know at least the SES light is not working. Looking for advice on where to start and other simple things to check.

The volt light has to illuminate with the key in on position or .you get no charge

SES light should come on with the key on if the ECM is getting power

Ok, well I feel like a bit of a dumbass. Came home from work and checked fuses. All good. Keyed the car on and the Gauges fuse location had 12 volts. Pulled the dash insert and left side light covers. Swapped the Volts bulb with a known good one. No change and verified the current bulb was good. Pulled the right side light coves and there was no bulb in the SES location. Popped one in and it was fine. Then I was stumped. Checked the voltage on the alternator post. Zero, hmmm. Looked at the battery and sure enough the wire was ripped out of the terminal fitting. Repaired the connection and everything is back to normal.
