I have a 87 t type i looking to hide a kill switch but i have no idea were im soppiest to wire it in. If any one can help that would be great.

That's something that is normally not discussed here publicly due to thieves who love to steal our cars who I'm sure also prowl these boards looking for ideas.

But to help you out, my suggestion is for you to find a way to disable the car (i.e. prevent it from starting). There's several ways of doing it. I'm not going to list them here but if you know your Buicks and you use your head you will soon figure it out.

Then pick your poison and mount the switch in a well hidden location, where thieves won't find it. Trust me they know about kill switches so use your imagination here.

It would also help if you installed some sort of device to make them not want to sit in the car for very long trying to find your hidden kill switch.

I like the way you think 3.8sfi, with all the no start conditions its very easy to make a kill switch for these cars. I have one in mind already, but they would look at my car and quickly realize that it not worth stealing (but with my luck they would anyway)

I hear you. As much as I love helping others I try not to give out too much info.

I think thieves will steal any TR they can, something about them makes them attractive no matter how crappy they may be.

I have a feeling that if your TR looked like this, either every thief would target it for "cultural" reasons, or none would because they all would be repulsed...

I don't know if the thieves would see much dollar value here....other than the rims and the engine....

But now her.....

I'd steal her.

dude my buddie wires some sort of relay system in which you have hit your hazard button or turning signal any switch even power seats in series in order to get the vehicle to turn on and also uses the detachable face on the radio to turn also very technical crazy stuff he said he's been doing this in high end vehicle installs for years !

planet "o" the apes

that's gotta be one of the best commercials i have ever seen, that chimp isn't smiling or crying out, he's all business, he really got into character

chimp alarm

poor bubbles, michael j. isn't getting any work, i guess some body has to make an income, me thinks thinks this chimp watched too many speed racer cartoons

I won't say where my kill switch is, but if you can still find them, I'm using a barrel key switch counter sunk into a piece of machined plastic. I bought my last two barrel key switches from radio shack. I really like those types of switches.

I actually heard of a guy that put snakes in his corvette when he when out of town b/c it keep getting broken into. I know I wouldnt go near that thing
