I've got an 86 Ttype with 150,000 babied miles on it.

Recently, I had a tire rod pop off (while in park fortunately) so I replaced my inner/outer rods on both sides.. as well as upper/lower ball joints, idler/pitman arm, brake pads, shocks all around and rear coil springs. Quite a feat.

The ride and the handling are great now but I still have some squeaks around the car. I figure that the squeaks around the body are probably from worn bushings. Those aren't too bad.
My real problem is this nasty chirpy/squeaky noise that seems to come from the dashboard/windshield area directly in front of the driver's side seat. I pulled the top of the dash off and tightened all screws below but that didn't kill it.

Could this actually be coming from my windshield somehow? It's really annoying. That is for sure. Anyone else ever have this annoyance?

..Also, the noise is louder as the temperature is cooler outside.

TIA

There is a bumper in the middle under the hood on the cowl where the windshield wipers are...Put a dab of lube or something there...That should be the squeak that is bugging you...

Do you have any braces installed? The "x" rear seat braces and the front frame braces go a long way towards stopping those squeaks also

Try some dielectric grease on that support. It seems to last forever in cold climates unlike regular grease as it is synthetic. I use it on all the rubber bumpers/supports and it clears up a lot of squeaks rattles on my T-top car.

:D
I went out with a can of wd-40 and hit every spot where the hood sits and also the a-arm bushings and control arms and now it is as quiet as a mouse!

Thanks men.

i use the lube that came with my energy suspention bushings on my hood supports.
