Hi Guys,

I just received a pair of Kirban's Variable Rate rear springs and was wondering which end is up? They have a fairly tight wound end and a not so tight end. No instructions were included with them and I figured someone here has installed them before!;) I'm thinking the "tight" end goes up but want to make sure just the same.:D

TIA for any and all help! :)

BTW.......I did do a search for this info but came up empty.:(

Your intuition is correct, the "tight" end goes towards the top. When I was in the parts business, a Moog rep asked the class the same question about Cargo Coils and stated: "It makes no difference but we recommend the tighter wound coils to go up". Go figure :)

There is also a procedure for installing the curved spring part in the bottom coil on the support. Came with my Moog springs which are probably what Kirban uses anyway.

Wish I had a scanner for ya!

However if you still have untouched stockers in there just look at how the coil is in the bottom mount and put the new ones in the same way.

Look before you jack because sometimes they fall right out.

I received mine last Thursday haven't installed them yet, but did get instructions. You could probably get a copy from Kirban or I could fax or mail you a copy. Send me an email if you need them.
