How do these install? Do these plates go behind the striker/pin to reinforce that area? I saw these on kirban's site awhile back, and looked at mine, and can see the pin/striker(?) flex when I partially close the door... can only imagine what they do when I slam the door closed...

Yes, they go behind the pin flush against the body gives support to that thin body metal that can crack. Actually designed by a good friend of ours that worked on the original GNX project. Its a part we buy from him.

yup mine was making a BOingggggg sound. remove striker and one washer and replace it with the plate...best damn 20 quid ive ever spent on this car
