knock in park, and code 43?

Car has been running great, sat for a week, fired it up today and out of the blue I have a code 43, service engine soon light, and 13.4KR when the car is in park at idle. Fuel pressure is good, car sounded fine, took it on a gingerly drive around the block, and the KR on the scanmaster would fluctuate between 0 and 19.9, seemingly at random. Knock gauge went off sometimes, sometimes it didn't. Does a false knock generally cause the motor to throw a code? grr...
