I just installed a knock gauge and I want to test it by tapping on the knock sensor (is that the best way to test it?). I looked at gnttype.org and have seen where it is located but there's a bunch of stuff in that area. Can anybody give me a description of what it looks like? I don't have any experiance with them.

It's buried! If you take the coil pack/module off, you can see it easy. It's between the top two trans mounting bolts on the block, it's round and has one wire coming out of it. Not impossible to see without taking anything off just move the rear ignition wires and get a light in there.;)

It's easy to see. Just look "under" the coil pack/ignition module, on the back of the motor, just forward of the firewall. Look d-o-w-n!!!

Take a long, 3/8" or 1/2" extension and tap on the block in the area of the sensor. Don't whack the sensor directly or you may bring about its untimely demise...

:D

I would think you could lightly rap on the drivers side valve cover, near the back of the engine. Also, the intake or exhaust header. Just don't wail on any if these parts
