Had the lap top on and operating fine. Left for a moment, and when I returned, the screen was blank. It has Win95. Tried all I know ( which isn't much ) and the screen is still blank/white. You can hear 95 boot up and play it's liitle tune, but the screen shows nothing. Crap! Any ideas. Brian

Check to see that you didnt accidentally switch to external display ?? My old laptop screen will go blank if I hit function and the key with the lil monitor on it...

Can't find any such key on this Hitachi. My HP has the F5 key with what looks like a monitor. It's weird how this just went white. DS was showing perfectly, then I removed the lap top from its stand to adjust the holder, and when I looked at the screen again it was blank/white. I hate computer problems!

Maybe something got knocked loose when you pulled it ? Did you try booting up in safe mode to be sure that it's not a screen problem ?? You can get to safe mode by tapping the F8 key after your bios screen, but before the win95 logo comes up...If you turn it off and on and it is always blank/white, you may have a hardware problem

Ya, it's always white. Nothing what so ever. It was working fine, then I turned my attention to something else, and when I looked back-----white/blank. Turning off and on does nothing. I can hear windows booting up and playing its tune, but no visual. Thanks for your input. Brian

May not mean squat, but occasionally mine will do that, and with the unit still on, shut the monitor down to lock and reopen. I know it sounds too simple, but it works for mine....just a thought.

TUFNUF6, are you refering to the engine. Your saying to leave the lap top on and cabled up to the parrallel port, and turn the engine off and on? Just bought this lap top, so I'lll try anything before I trash it. Thanks, Brian

No not the engine. With the laptop still turned on, shut the monitor and reopen....

Got the same problem with mine now....if I don't get it working soon it's going in the trash

Never mind, the drop repeatedly on the brick porch method of troubleshooting a laptop doesn't work, guess it's time to put the spare tower to use now
Maybe I need to go to anger management ;)

What degree of PITA fix is the invertor board? Is there a way to test it to be sure? Brian
