Laptop computer help

I have a AT&T Safari 3181 laptop I run DirectScan on.
On boot up it stops and says your time and date are not set and gives methis:
The software has detected that your system settings have changed
Press F2 to Restore Factory Settings
Press F1 to run Auto Setup Utility
If I set the Time and date it will not save it after I shutdown it goes back to saying the same thing.
What do I need to do?
Is there a small battery that needs to be changed?If so where is it.
This laptop is a AT&T Safari 3181

I am getting ready for Noble Buick vs Ford race and I have not used the laptop in about 9 months so I got it out and this is what I found.
Need to find the battery so I can get the car tuned for "The Race"

Got that sucker opened up!
Found the battery.
I will see if Radio Shack has one tomorrow!
