My wiper arm mechanism (under by the heater hoses) is rubbing and has cut a small hole in the hose. I had the wipers on one day and looking under the hood - saw a small leak.

What does everyone else have back there to protect the heater hoses from the wiper mechanism that moves the pass side wiper arm ? I was thinking a lil plastic tie but that seems Mickey Mouse. It's the upper hose that has the cut in her....

Looking at mine, there are a couple of clips that hold the hose up by the cowl.

Hmmm. a couple of clips ? Not sure I follow

I will take a picture of it tomorrow and get it developed so I can show you my problem.
I got a lil delay on it goin to the body shop so I still have her here. I'm not sure where it should be clipped to....the "evestrough" (for lack of the correct term) comes out above the heater hoses at a 90 deg. angle with the firewall. The stupid wiper arm assembly that contacts the upper hose (when turned on) is at kind of an angle (like 45 deg). and mounted to the firewall somehow.

Does the hose fit above this...btwn the "evestrough" and the wiper assembly in front of the assembly ?

I'll try to remember to take a digital-picture tonight, but basicly I have two clips that fasten to the "drip-edge" that hold the hose away from the wiper arms.

I forgot to borrow the camera, will have to wait until monday now. But here is a description:

There is a hole where the driver side wiper spray nozzle hose goes through at the "drip edge". Just to the right of the hole, a flat thin steel bracket snaps over the drip edge and has a loop that holds the hose. There is another on the passenger side by that hole. If yours are gone, head to the junkyard, I'll bet you'll find a few regals (or other) that has these. I can get this small stuff free from my local yard.

Cool...i'll check back on Mon. I will check my local yard...I know they have a few Regals..not turbos but regular Regals.

Might get lucky. I need to keep that hose away from the wiper gadget. AND now I need to repair the damn hose !

I'll get ur pic of it and head to yard.

here are the pic's I promised.....

This first shows the driver side clip by the fluid spray nozzle

this second shot shows the passenger side by the wiper arm. I have one of the vacuum hoses draped over it to keep it out of the way.

Sorry...looks like we got a large misunderstanding here..

I'm talking about the heater hoses, not the washer hoses. The wiper arm mechanism has cut my upper heater hose. How are yours secured ?

Oops! re-reading 'carefully' your first post, guess I did make a mistake. Sorry. There is a bracket the holds those hoses too that is riveted to the firewall. It holds both hoses togother on the top 'loop'. I'll take a pic tonight when I get home.

Sorry taking so long, other stuff got in the way. Wife wants a new SUV while the interests rates are down, so we've been hunting, and when we weren't hunting, I had to get the Pickiup ready to sell. Free time? what's that? I'll get the pic tonight. I think my wife is decided between the Envoy and the Bravada. I like the Envoy myself. The new ones are very nice, really impressed with the improvements and 270hp inline 6-cyl.

The view in the picture is from the passenger side looking in between the turbo and firewall (excuse the leaves please). You can just see a black bracket just left of the transmission dip stick. It holds both heater hoses on the up side of the loop. The bracket is riveted to the firewall. Is this what you're looking for?

Ya ! Perfect...thats exactly it.

Mine is the same sans leaves and hose bracket (sorry). I guess I will have to fab up some kinda device to hold my hoses outta the way now. The stupid wiper mechanism gets awful close to those hoses....could be an unpleasant surprise on a guy's way home on a dark stormy night ya follow ?

Thanks for the pic...by the way...is that a bolt missing outta your turbo I can see...?
I had that problem...lost one during the rebuild...Home Depot had a perfect match for me when I showed up with one of the others FYI.

I just got a new waste gate acuator and had to use different bolts (new style actuator). Haven't got that far yet. Oh, and I just picked up a new cam sensor too, hopefully this weekend I'll find some time to put it on.
