length of cooler lines matter?

Just curious if the length of the cooler lines matter. In other words
If I run long lines to cooler will it affect the cooling and or the return of fluid back to trans?

It gets you more volume in the system the longer the lines are. If the cooler is big enough this gets a more stable temp.
