If we get rid of the "old farts", you would be the first one to go!

Of course, Lou and I would be right behind you.:) Then the "youngsters" would have to spend most of the next 22 years making all the mistakes we did to figure out these cars. Don't think they have the patience for that while chasing all their other activities.

As long as i dont make the same mistake that cruz made trying to get vacuum for the fuel regulator from the disconnected throttle body coolant line, I think I'll be okay. and he was wondering why the car was running lean.

Dang Kevin!

That's one of the oldest hot rod tricks in the book. As the boost comes up, and the car goes down the track, the engine and water heats up, increasing pressure to the FPR. This pressure is FAR more linear and doesnt have all those nasty pressure spikes that you'd have running off the vacume line.

I would like to take this time to apoligize to the over 60 crowd for the lack of knowledge and respect shown by some of the youth in this section.

Guess I better go eat my oatmeal now.

Mike,What is wrong with you, Don't be such a motor mouth & divulge all of our speed secrets,

wrong answer!

car ran lean cause fuel pump wouldn't put out enough,
yes I did have A vac line to water outlet, , but not boost ref signal.
how would you know? your weren't there,

ahhh the experience of age, no amount of youthfulness can substitute for it, we have more memories then you have dreams! LOL

Cruz i was there you just dont remember or forgot already :p, I was the ugly fat guy that adjusted your manual boost controller to a lower boost level, you thought that turning the knob all the way in was for less boost but its actually the opposite, turning the knob in, increases pressure on the spring that pushed on the little round bearing inside thus you have to run more boost to overcome the pressure on the spring to make the little ball bearing pop up to release boost and open the wastegate ;) , you were running almost 38 psi of boost, I turned it down to 26 or 24psi, pete was actually the one who noticed the vacumm line for the FP regulator hooked up to the Throttle body coolant lines not me.. :) immediately after he hooked it up to a boost line the car got extremely rich. we are just having some fun with you thats all, I should come by one day so you can give me some pointers on tunning and working on these damn bricks.

.

COOL!
I can't wait to try this when I get home tonight....Then go out huntin'.
Old guys rock!
They know all the cool tricks.

I wonder if it works the same if I run a line from a fitting at my oil pressure gauge to the AFPR?

Sory Yardbird, it doesn't work. Kenne Bell tryed this years ago. The oil in the regulator caused the moving parts to get overlubricated resulting in a rich fuel condition. He was starting to experiment with an oil isolator, when funding was moved to his newest brain storm, "The ram air canister". This project has been in mothballs untill now. YOU now hold the torch. The key to unlock this hidden power. Make us proud young rooster. Oh, and one more thing...

Shut up stupid!:D

When you need your daddy to come see why your Hybrid Oldsmobile was running really rought and in 3 minutes find out and tell you that you crossed the wires when changing the connector to the ECU I think I know more than you about fixing these cars, so can i hear a..

SHUT UP IDIOT....

Hi Harold,
Would you trade me your 70hpq for my gtq? You really don't need it with your setup you're running low 11's -high 10's and that turbo is for low 9's.

SHUT UP IDIOT....[/QUOTE]

Brent he needs that big turbo to push that hacked up motor into the HIGH tens cuz it won't make it without it......and harold who helped you fix your roller lifter problem? Who gave you thread sealer to stop the leak from your turbo....YOUR DADDY ZIGGY
