yes, it is the stock gm lifters. I have thier catalog and saw it in there. I think they are $90.00.

Johnson is the company that makes the lifters for GM. They put them in all the different boxes that say GM/TRW/Speed-Pro etc... Same lifter, prettier box.
www.johnsperformance.com has 'em for about half the above price and they work silently and perfecty in my car.

Are you sure about this? I have used both the GM specific lifters, and the TRW's, and there was a difference in the two. Several reputable GN outfits have also recommended using the GM specific lifters. I would look into that further, before just putting in a cheaper TRW. The cost difference is not enough to make it worth risking, IMO. Federal-Mogul/TRW does manufacture there own stuff, and I'm not sure they re-box their lifters. However, I'd be curious to hear differently. I have a contact with Federal-Mogul, that I can possibly get to tell me this too.
Please post any additional info you find on this.

Yes, I am sure that if you buy the Johnson lifters, you are getting the very same lifter that comes in the box marked GM Genuine Parts. As far as the other manufacturers I stated being the same lifter, I am only passing on information that was told to me by a reputable GN Vendor... I have a contact at GM that has verified that Johnson makes their lifters. The units sold at the above mentioned site are Johnson and work flawlessly.

I was told the same thing by some locals. A local store, Powerhouse has the Johnsons for $28.

Thanks Jim for the additional info. I am going to be in need of these lifters when I get my motor back from the machine shop. I will contact your vendor for them, if they are at that price. I will also post a reply in relation to the TRW's, if I find out more about who makes them.
Thanks again...
