Most of the battery's in my TR's have weighed around 36 - 39 lbs.

I went to the NAPA website and found one with side mount terminals that weighs 28lbs. Part # NBR7570. A 10# savings is not too bad, especially if it is drop-in. Granted, I would like to find something that is under 20lbs and installs relavitely easily.....

Anyone using one of the super lightweight batteries wit top mount terminals must have to use a batterbox and/or adapters to get it to work.

I'd be interested to see pics of anyones installs.

I think I'm gonna try the 535 motor cycle batt as soon as my heavy full size Interstate Buick battery goes south. 12 lb batt would be nice to have.

The Stealth guy did a great job on uncovering the Dyna Batt gouging and other great info, great link!!

Here is a recap of where to buy the batteries cheap.

Here is some info on what batterys come with the SAE terminals.
Automotive terminals (available ONLY on PC545, PC680, PC925, PC1200 and PC1700)

Thanks for the tips guys, another 25lbs ditched pretty easily ;)

I ran across a Sam's Club site where they sell Sealed Exide Champion Motorcycle Batteries for $80-$20. Here is what I found, I wonder if these will work with the SAE Terminals also??

J.I.S. Capacity (10Hr) CA (in.) Length Width Height
16-BS 14 280 6-15/16 4 6-1/8
16L-BS 14 280 6-15/16 4 6-1/8
20L-BS 18 290 6-15/16 3-7/16 6

This would be much easier to find and probably cheaper to do.
