Hi, I've been looking into lightening up my Regal's front end. These are the things I'll be doing do far:

Stripped for racing (no interior,dash,a/c,every unneeded nut/bolt removed)
Fiberglass front bumper
Aluminum bumper support
Aluminum core support
Tubular control arms
Fiberglass hood
Fiberglass doors
All lexan windows
No sway bars
Plastic headlights

I will not be doing fiberglass fenders

I was wondering who has the lightest front disc brake setup. I've seen the aluminum Willwood factory-looking calipers and I've heard that SSBC has the lightest rotors. I was just wondering if there was a rotor/caliper kit that would be an easy swap that could knock another 10-20 lbs. off the front.

The car weighs right now about 2800 lbs. Thanks.

Wilwood sells a drag race kit for the front.. I think it drops 20lbs off..

PM me and I'll get you some prices

KLHAMMETT has some Aerospace fronts with the lightweight rotors in the FS section. I have the street kit (vented rotors) and they are light. The calipers are less than 3 #'s.

I personally know 2 people that have removed aerospace brakes from their car.

I have personally installed aerospace brakes and think they are JUNK!

Well, that's good to know. I know SSBC and Willwood are supposed to be quality stuff. I do want light, quality, and of course, as cheap as possible  !!

Yes the SSBC are nice, but they are not a 4 piston fixed caliper like the Wilwoods and Aerospace. I like the Wilwoods too, but they don't have dust seals. Probably not a concern on a race only deal. So that is why I went with the Aerospace brakes. That, and the price was good for such nice billet calipers.

I have the Aerospace, I have yet to see the Junk aspect of them in over 10k miles.
Here are the weight savings I have on them over stock.
If you go with the 10 3/4 inch rotor you will probably save a few more lbs.

Stock rotors: 17 1/2 lbs x 2 = 35lbs
Aerospace 11 3/4 inch billet rotors: 9 1/2 lbs x 2 = 19lbs
Stock calipers: 6 3/4 lbs x 2 = 13 1/2 lbs
Aerospace billet 4 piston calipers: 3 1/4 lbs x 2 = 6 1/2 lbs

Stock Front Brakes = 48 1/2 lbs
Aerospace Brakes = 25 1/2 lbs
