Wrong.............it was his way of getting one over the censors at the time....the original lyrics were much more explicit than what ended up on the album.............kinda the beginning of the end between he and Warner Bros. records.

Yeah, after re-reading the lyrics about 4 times, I was able to "connect the dots", but you have to read into it cause it's deep (no pun intended )

Wonder how many Corvette owners cank this song in their cars thinking it is about a car. LOL

The little man in the boat seems to be in the spotlight. Also the stamina of the subject seems to be in question.

I think it all falls back to how Prince's father treated him as a child.

It also had a lot to do with him never driving a Buick which led to his beans and frank inverting....George Thorogood never had this problem.

LOL ........ You are goiong way back, and you are correct.
Lots of remakes from; Muddy waters, Howlin Wolf, Elmore James and Willie Dixon.

Prince is someone who is not afraid to push the envelope.
As far as the other "stuff"; I have no problem with Sheila E. or Apelonia 6.

Prince was one the first major artist (I think) who had the "khahunas" to stand up to the big recording industry and called them out doing it.
He started his own label and proved that you can be succesfull recording without the backing of the big record labels.
Probably had bigger profits too.

Kind of like the "little people" standing up to Corporate America.
A rebel with a cause ........ which has nothing to do with his ability to perform and write.

This song is about a hoochie, or a ho.....for those of you old cats, a woman that gives it up too easy the first time. I almost would say this song is about a prostitute but the talk of many pictures sort of rules that one out IMO.


And yes half of Prince's lyrics are pretty explicit....about sex...
