I've asked a few people this....no one seems to know. At least of those I've asked.

Does the lockup solenoid allow fluid out of the converter in order to lock it up, or allow it in??

Oil Is Exhausted At The Solenoid Body When Not Applied.when Applied The Oil Is Stopped From Exhausting And Therefore It Builds Pressure Between The Solenoid And Spring Loaded Valve .as It Builds Pressure It Upshifts The Valve Causing Clutch Off Oil To Be Exhausted Resulting In Clutch Apply/
 
no problem,the converter charge circuitry and flow reversals when locked is not very simple at first glance.
