logging in every 20 minutes

since I've joined this site I've had to re-login every 20-30 minutes that I am on the site. I am active, using mouse, scrolling, reading threads, but every 20-30 minutes I get thrown out and have to login again. This is a pain when reading older threads 100 pages or so back, when I login it starts me over again at the home page.

Anyone else expeirence this?

No, I have not clicked on the "remember me" box. I had assumed that was a 'remember my password box'. I don't usually click them as I don't like my passwords stored online.

Charlie, do you think that I should give that a try?

Geoff had changed my 'style' setting and I am still getting booted off. I just tried Charlie's 'remember me' trick. We'll see if that helps......does not look good if you are getting booted also.........

Sorry guys. I couldn't see anything else that was different other than the view. I thought about it later and couldn't see how that would make a difference.

Could it be a browser/security issue? What are you guys using?

We have a "time out" period on the board. It keeps the load down some what on the server. However it is more than 20 mins. Do you have this problem on any other site?

No, it only happens on this site. In fact it just threw me out while waiting for the 'Turbo Lounge' to load! Wasn't logged in 1 minute! I appreciate you all trying to help.

Could it be a security issue with your anti-virus software?

Do it at your own risk: You could try shutting it (anti-virus) off for an hour or so to see if it makes a difference.

I am also suspecting the anti-virus software. I would rather not turn it off.

On the bright side, I love this site, so if I have to login every so often, I can live with it. While it can be annoying, it is a small price to pay for such a great site!

Pretty sure it is your anti virus too. Problably it does not like the Google ads. That seems to be a hang nail for some systems...
