Hi Guys
Do you need to install long wheel studs to get through tech inspection when using slicks on stock rims? The reason i wanted to go with a 8.5 x 26 M/T slick was because I thought you didnt need them. The salesman at the local speed shop said tech requires ALL slick running cars to have open lug nuts with the threads at least flush. Whats the story? He also said I would be crazy to run slicks with radials on the front, said car could get real squirlley. Sounds like a crock to me. What do you guys think? Thanks:cool:

If you are going to race with slicks do the smart and safe thing - get the long studs - its not that big a deal - a little now could save a whole lot more down the road. :)

if you have stock wheels, studs, and lug nuts, you will be fine

tech only has a problem if you are running non stock wheels

they "may" ask you to pull a lug nut to check stud length (which has to protrude through the wheel by at least the thickness of the lug nut)
