So my car sat for years before I got it and I'd say a 20' at best. I have worked the last year getting it right and it's running OK, a few issues, but nothing major.

Anyhow, I thought for sure that a paint job was absolute must, but decided to try something first.

This was my first attempt. 1500, 2000, Rubbing Compound, Cleaner/Wax. Used the HS Buffer.

It's now a 5' and looks pretty darn nice. It's nice to finally be at this stage with this car.;)

Awesome, I would have never thought it would have come that clean when looking at how the left side looks.

And it was sooo easy:cool: The hardest part is getting over that your hitting your car with sandpaper:eek: Then the next hardest part is seeing what 1500 grit does to paint:eek:  , however, when you get to the high speed buffer and rubbing compound, it really starts to shine.

As you can see I had nothing to loose:)

Thanks,

It's looking good Rich!! We tried "everything" but sandpaper to get rid of the dirt & grime on that thing but not even a buffer and compound would work. Glade to see it came off and it's looken better. Now drive that thing!!!!

Hope you can make it to BG next year, You wouldn't regret it. Make sure you bring a parts list with you cause there are alot of vendors there with some nice stuff!!!!

Oh we have been driving it. I took my Father-in-law out, he has a 69 GTO and kept bragging how fast his car is. So I let him drive this one, his car is not so fast anymore, lol. I know that the posi works:cool: and tires no matter how big and sticky are to be replaced on a regular basis:biggrin:

Pretty consertive tune, just running really good. I've been over the whole car, it's really solid, no squeaks or rattles.

Darn thing really puts a grin on your face:)
