Trying to figure out what else I need to do to get a 9 out of my gn.
Full weight 87 buick gn
3.8 .030 over with trw pistons, stock heads I think they have been ported and stock intake. 212/212 cam unsure if it a roller. 60mm precision turbo, external wastegate with 3" down pipe.
60lbs injectors and 101 chip from turbo tweak. Built tranny with art Carr internals and 3200 vigilante lockup convertor. That's about all I know about the car.
I'm looking to try for 9s just curious what is the best route. Any input or help would be appreciated.

Let me get straight to the most important part... Money! A lot of money. Most of what you have will be sold and upgraded.

Figured that just curious what is the biggest power parts to upgrade. Cylinder heads and intake I'm sure are the big ones. Does a maf and throttle body make much of a difference?

I am very me mechanically inclined just new to gn's and don't wanna waste money on stuff that isn't gonna make much of a difference.

The question I have is do you want to go 9's just once or be able to do it repeatedly? Regardless of the engine you'll need a cage too.

60mm turbo wont cut it.you have to build the car up to handle the power that takes time and money.driveshaft, rearend, motor mounts, tuning, tires, cage and other safety gear etc, lightweight parts, fuel system, spare motors and tranny for the unexpected etc.

I understand about all the chassis stuff mostly curious about engine stuff. Thanks for all the input so far

You need:

a bigger turbo
bigger injectors
good intercooler
3" downpipe and exh
a good fuel system
a tranny that can handle the power
a better stall converter with more stall speed
good ported head (irons) with a upgraded rocker shaft
port matched intake

Good tuning (about 30psi on race gas), a good tire, and a good driver to get it done.
