I'm planning on making my GN my daily driver but I would also like to be able to have a good time and hold my own at the strip on the weekends. I was just hoping that some of you daily driver guys could point me in the right direction as far as some mods I should be looking into. Thanks!

Don't mess with it much or you'll end up hating it/fixing it alot. A smaller injector (old Ford-Bosch 36 bluetops were great injectors) will help keep around town mileage good. Gutted cat, 340 Walbro fuel pump & hotwire, 13" K&N Filter, Hooker 2.5" dual exhaust with Hooker Aerochamber mufflers, LS1 MAF with Translator and an alcohol injection kit should be all you need beyond basic upgrade pieces (adjustable fuel pressure regulator, adjustable wastegate actuator, T-bolt hose clamps, spring cleaning items, etc.).

Also dont go overboard.. Its very easy to do it.. How many miles on the motor?? If it still has its original timming chain I would get rid of it ASAP.. Especially if you are making it a DD... If you dont upgrade fuel pump (highly recommened) at least hot wire your stock one. YOu might want to change valve springs.. That is a lil excessive. Definitely get a new chip and have it burned for the size inj and if you plan on running Alky or not... If wanting to upgrade Turbo go w a Ta49 or a Te44- one where you dont have to change much.. Hope it helps..

And get a scanmaster, boost gauge and or knock guage. Something to see what's going on. It will save you money in the long run.

Do a leak down or compression test make sure the engine is sound. Next a good boost gauge.

That's my 2 cents.

With all the mods I have done, my car is a great daily driver for me...it lost a little bit of daily driver though when i went to the new torque converter though. but im young and it doesnt bother me much!

all previous suggestions are pretty good. although there are some new turbos out there that you could upgrade to that spool just as fast as a ta49 or te44 and flow considerably more!

i do not agree with the smaller injectors, go with 60lbs. and a turbo tweak chip. i have absolutely no problems with driveability and the size of a fuel injector will not affect city fuel mileage. before my torque converter upgrade, i generally got 18-19mpg of mixed driving...about 50% city/50% highway, and on a road trip i got 24, 27 and 26 mpg on almost 100% highway! hth

I've got the 60's with a translator plus from Fullthrottle. You can set it for a lean cruise on the highway.
