Looking to buy a tool to do some porting, grinding and so on. I have owned a Dremel brand one- and it sucked, also own a RotorZip but no cable attachment to be found. I do have a compressor but would rather get an electric one, What do you guys recommend?

Harbor freight. I guarantee you will use it once. After hours of grinding on one head you'll be asking wtf are you doing. Don't forget heavy duty carbides that are pretty expensive too.

I had two other people tell me the same thing, I might go cheapO and if I get use out of it I'll upgrade to a better one.

I use multiple Harbor Freight ones and I add the router speed controller to them http://www.harborfreight.com/router-speed-control-43060.html http://www.harborfreight.com/14-in-43-amp-heavy-duty-long-shaft-die-grinder-60656.html having a couple of them saves me a lot of time not needing to change bits. I have had good luck once I got the speed under control, without the controller they are very hard to use and I could see where guys have problems. Whatever you get make sure you can find a way to adjust the speed.

Yes, I used the speed controller too. Make sure you use hearing protection and safety glasses and a mask.

Same here Mike. I've had mine for over 5 years and have beat on it. Never given me a problem. I also have the fordom sytle and it's close to 20 years old now. Both work great.;)

same thing with the 4" angle grinders, I have like 5 of them. They put them on sale for 12.99. I have one with a cut off wheel, one with a flap wheel, one with a grinding wheel, one with a brush. when they blow up every couple years I get a new one. The amount of time I save just picking up another tool more than offsets the cost, which is next to nothing, EYE PROTECTION and face shield cant say that enough

I also have their $15 angle grinder. I burned it out in a few hours I exchanged it and put it aside in the "lend out pile" I pretty much avoid HF tools as they are generally junk for on the road working reliability. I did get an engine stand
