Doug

Doug, left you a message again last night. Remember I am right down the road and if you need ANYTHING just holler at me! I can't imagine how you feel as I have never had to experiance it so far but I will one day if I outlive my old man and I do NOT look forward to feeling it at all! I lost my best friend years ago to a gun shot wound and never really wanted another but though the years you crept into my heart and became more like a brother than a friend to me. I hate it that you are having to deal with this now. Be glad that you and your dad were on good terms and got along good. Some people never realize it till they are gone and then its to late. See you soon

funeral

We had the funeral fri. Need Boost was there for me, how much it means he will never know. I bought a "World's Greatest Dad" T shirt that comes with paint for hand prints. My youngest sister and I put my 2 sons and her 2 sons hand prints as well as ours on it and wrote him a note on it. The funeral director placed it under his hands before they moved him to the grave site. We did not involve our middle sister for reasons I won't say but she asked mama why we put in with him, "Nobody can't see it". That wasn't the point!
He loved his grandkids without question and even though his will left all his stuff to mama the land can't be sold or used for collateral and goes to the grandkids when mama goes.
Just venting a little, sorry! Here is a couple of pics of him, one is from the the 50's and the other is from 2006 when my youngest turned 3 and he got a firetruck from "Big PaPa".
