Ok, I'm getting frustrated now. Cranked the car up this morning and let it run for about 20 minutes making sure I didn't have any leaks from when I replaced the valve cover gaskets. No problems. Get home this evening and gonna drive the car some before loading it on the trailer for the race this weekend. Let it start to warm up and something starts to sound a little funny, (NOT KNOCKING), So I start to check stuff out. Look in the car and oil pressure is on 0.

I shut the car off and start looking. I took the oil filter off and cut it open and don't see any signs of a spun bearing. Put another oil filter back on and took the line off the turbo and put a bag on it. Spun the engine for about 2 minutes and Nothing. BUT here's what's puzzling me. Took the new oil filter off and it's full of oil. I took the oil cooler lines loose and oil is getting back to the engine. I "think" this should rule out pick up tube, bad oil pump, and blockage in the cooler or lines.

What else could it be to get oil from the pan to the engine, but not to the gauge or the turbo?

TIA

?

is'nt there a distribution block on the engine block that sends oil p.s.i. to the preassure sensor and turbo feedline? maybe its restricted? are you sure the engine is getting enough psi? dont keep running the engine, you'll wipe out the turbo.

Did you get a check engine light when you lost oil pressure? This happened to me once before. The oil pump had seized, and sheared the pin on the distributor. Since this turns the cam sensor you'll get the ses light.

Ok, been inspecting, but still no luck. This is what I've done so far. Pulled the front cover in hopes one of the oil galley plugs by the cam had came out. But they're OK. I then went to all the trouble to take the cam out to see if one of the cam bearings had spun, But they're fine too.

SO, since I verified that oil was going thru the oil pump ( took cooler lines off and oil was going in and out properly on both hoses. BUT, no oil to the distribution block for the oil gauge and turbo.

What else could cause it? The only other thing I can think of is that the timing cover has 2 oil holes on that side of the block. One larger one on bottom and a smaller one up higher. I blew compressed air in the upper one and air came out of the distribution block hole and the front cam bearing.

Could the oil pump be pumping thru the bottom hole, but not the top?

I mean WTF?
