Lounge - Thread Content - Please Read

Some time ago, Rollin had posted a sticky dealing with Lounge etiquette and thread content. In the transition, the thread was somehow lost. I was, however, impressed enough with the content of Rollin’s earlier post that I had saved a copy in my personal archives. Even with the change of ownership of this board, it still reflects the views of the new administration:

UNACCEPTABLE POSTS:

”You agree, through your use of this service, that you will refrain from posting any material which is false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, gross, disgusting, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, extremely sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate of any law. This includes posts about religion, illegal substances, posts that turn to arguments and flame wars, etc... While we are generally a little lenient as much as we can be, posts of this nature that go beyond opinion and turn to arguments will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate closing or deletion or editing of the post and possible suspension/banning of the posting members
account.”

The moderators on this board are, of course, volunteers and otherwise very busy people. They have agreed to assist with this board for one reason; to make this board the best possible source of turbo Buick information for you, me and us. While we want this forum to be entertaining, our main focus remains the exchange of Buick and other automotive information and we expect our members to stay focused on what the board is all about. While we want to maintain a relatively “free format” in the Lounge, it may be necessary to restrict all threads to the exchange of automotive related subject matter. No one wants to see that happen but it will if we continue to misuse and abuse it.

The moderators of this board, reserve the right to ammend this "charter" at any time.

Glad you made that comment!

That is precisely a point Bruce and I discussed. That IS the guideline we are going to use.

The choice a member has is to abide be the board rules or go else where, we know that. Some boards have no rules, but that is of no concern here.

We have many reasons that require us to enforce the general guidelines as posted, and these levels have been set by Jack and myself with the approval of Bruce.

We are NOT going to have a forum for dirty jokes and anything with nudity. There are plenty of other places on the net with that available. This is a turbo BUICK board, and we plan to keep it that way.

So to avoid deletion an off-color post, or one in bad taste, don't post it. We will not explain why we deleted these kind of posts, they will just be gone.
