I have a new motor combo, and my blms at idle and cruise are 90-98. Fuel press at 42. Tried new maf, .46 tps. If i step into throttle a bit blms go up 108-115. Also noticed on a hot restart motor does not start quick like loaded up. But does not miss after start like leaking inj. Any help appreciated .20 \ stock block with 2 center steel caps,je pistons, erson 220 cam ,ported irons,55injs,power plate,te-45a-q\trim,m.j.17row.

Who's chip? They need to caliberate the fuel map a little leaner.

That might be about right with RA's chip. That's what chip I run, and those BLMs are "about" the same levels I'm seeing, especially since I got a 10" convertor, however, the car runs fine, so.....

Was the chip set up for the smaller than stock convertor(mine wasn't, yet)?

I see the same thing on my 87 GN with a Red's 93 chip. My idle BLMs are closer to 108-110 at idle though.

If I watch the BLM's on the scanmaster I see them running low (rich) all the time...some cells will even hit 90. I'm running 41-42 psi FP at idle. I think this is fairly common for Red's chips...plus I have 009s which are (from what I understand) fairly tricky to tune for.

My car runs good, but it still has bothered me for a while. I also only read 4 MAF # at idle too. I've heard a low AF # will also drive down the BLM's. I'm saving up now for a Trans+/LS1 MAF/Extender chip....I have a feeling my stock MAF meter is getting a bit "tired".

If your car runs OK and you don't see any black smoke you're probably just fine. It would be a good idea to pull the plugs and see how they look. You might even try lowering the fuel pressure a bit too to see if that brings up the BLM's.

Don't get too strung out on trying to hit exactly 128 on your BLM's....especially with Red's chips.

Good Luck,
John

RIGHT!!!

Me too, I got reds 55# chip and blms at idle are 106ish. Car runs good though so I dont worry about it. I've tried lowering fuel press. and it gets better but I run out of fuel at around 90-100 MPH, pulling third gear so the hell with that! Let it run FAT! Thats what BLMS are for anyhow.
