Is it possible that running a stock turbo all out on a stroker engine with good heads could cause knock? Alky make it worse from being too rich? This setup will only make 15psi of boost but I'm wondering if the stock snail is too far past an efficiency range at this point to work and overheating the intake charge or something. Been working on this car for a while, but now I just can't make it work right for a guy. Thought alky would help, but it acts the same. Checking the basics and starting from scratch in the spring, but just curious on thoughts. Bigger turbo is not in the budget right now.

What are the WB readings when this is happening with alky turned off and then turned on ?

What do the plugs look like?nb and wb are nice tools but for ballpark tuning only.should pull the plugs.

I ran the stock turbo on the motor in my sig to get it smogged once. You dont need alky for it at all. The car would just nose over because the turbo was out of air by 15 psi on pump gas.

I don't think you can overheat using the alky but you can blow out the spark and or push a gasket out if you throw enough fuel at it. Ask me how I know.......

You could be over the efficiency threshold for the turbo, yes you may still be making boost but at a certain point you will be actually heating the air more and that could cause knock. Also too rich of a mixture can cause knock as well, any Scanmaster or powerlogger readings?

I'm by far no expert, I'm merely just throwing out suggestions. I would probably seek advice from Bison on this matter as he is the turbo guy ;)
