I just installed Razor's PAC. It works Awesome! The only thing I noticed is that my low level LED comes on when I take off, go up hills and around corners and tank is almost full. Is this normal?

Based on my experience and I just installed mine, if the bottle has the low level on the side near the bottom, I had to turn the white plastic on the outside to make the float level go up and down instead of side to side. When mine came out of the box it was turned to the side so I just turned it until the entire piece was completely straight across on the inside so when I tilted the bottle upside down then the float seperated. The wires need to face down when installed in the car. Hope this helps

The feed line from my alky tank is located on the front of the tank on the front side of the car. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the problem is, under hard acceleration, all my alky is rushing to the back of the tank instead. Maybe it would be better if the tank was somehow turned so the feed was in the back?

fill the tank all the way up ,not just to where it says full ,but to the top of the bottle...problem solved, and its o.k to do..

Yep, I do that and by the time it reaches the full mark on the tank, the light starts flickering. Maybe I'll see if Julio can hook me up with a botlle.

im thinking thats normal,if it flickers when you floor it,its moving around..not a biggie think of it as a reserve light :)

The way I see it, because the float for "low fuel" is right next to the feed line, when the light flickers, it's probably not getting a full shot of alky. The only time the system calls for alky is during accrleration and that force would have a similar effect to turning the tank on it's end causing all the alky to rush to the bottom. Well, when I punch it, all the alky would tend to rush to the back in the same manner, right? Only problem is, the feed line is in the front. I hope that made sense. I could just keep the tank full all of the time, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a big tank.

makes sense to me  ..maybe they could make a resavor that in the center had a solid piece of plastic(from top to bottom) with holes drilled in it to stop it from all at once moving to the back, but you might want to check with razor/julio to see if your theory has got merrit first..ill ask him tonight if he is at the track..

Yeah, that's fine and I'll leave him a PM. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. Thanks

Actually, it looks like the feed line itself would be too low to be affected, however, it could still trigger the sensor for low fuel.

What you dont realize is the specific gravity of alcohol being 20% lighter than water. In other words if you look at the way it sloshes when you move the car you will see it.

Any float will have a hard time staying up in alcohol, and the amount of liquid present in the lines is enough to sustain the car at very hard accelleration.. even if you car could do wheelies for 100 feet.. its no different than gasoline.

A 12 second Buick will consume approx 3/4 ounce per second. In two seconds your car is leveled.. there is more than 1.5 ounces in the lines.

Now.. I can make a small circuit to condition the signal from the low level so it doesnt respond as fast. Kinda like the way its done on Japanese cars with theyre fuel guages..so it doesnt bounce. I personally dont mind the blinking cuase as the blinking gets more aggressive.. I know the level is getting lower. Vs having a lite tell you ... your out all of a sudden. This is why I dont include a blinking LED for low level.

Look at your GM gas tank guage :D when it gets to 1/4 tank. So would you want a guage that all of a sudden doesnt move and you cant tell how much you have left

Racing the car from a dig with a low fuel tank, low alky tank, low tranny fluid level, etc... is a bad thing. From a roll.. not that much an issue.. most cars.

When the car hits a 1.3 60 foot, and breaks into the 9's or faster, please invest in a fuel cell with foam and no low level  Until then.. keep working on the tune :)

one thing to take to mind is the full mark on the tank wasput there for the coolant , when its at the full mark theres only approx 1 qt left , just 32 oz and as razor pointed out you use 3/4 oz per second.

my car drinks 12 oz per run ( i know this for a fact )
with alky at the full line youve got two passes and then you risking running out (not good)
if you are on the street thats 30 seconds or less under boost (if you do a long pull on the highway you could find yourself quickly out of fuel (been there done that) .
when it comes on at rest fill it up or atleast be aware you have maybe one to two more pulls .

i fill mine to the top of the detent in the bucket which is 60 oz above the full mark on the tank (5 runs worth before i reach full mark ) and ive made as many as 8 runs in a night without refilling but thats cutting it close , so now i usually keep a 32 oz gatorage bottle full of meth in the car just in case.
and because i refill with from the 32 oz bottles i have a very good idea of what my consumption rate is.

Thanks Razor, did'nt mean to make a big deal about it, I was just concerned but didn't want to bug you with it if no one else was concerned. It mostly flickered during normal driving like going up hills and around corners. However, I fiiled it to the brim and I'm headed to the track tonight. Just one last dumb question though, the pump stays on regardless of the low level light being on, right?

the low level is not connected to the pump so no worries of it not running because the light flickers,

mine is the old style top mounted sender and and yes it flickers on during a run. it comes on a little sooner than the new ones and comes on steady when its between the full and add level on the bottle .
i dont feel the front drain reservior is the best of designs for a car that launches so hard but i havant had any issues yet so why try to change .
having a tank with a rear drain would be nice but would result in a non stock appearance bucket and an increase in the cost . just keep an eye on your consumption . you should pop your hood after each pass to aid cooldown and while your at it take note of all fluids as well .
take notes on your runs and once it runs clean with out knock and doesnt seem to go any faster work on the 60'.

heres a little of the tuning results from my track runs
each group was a trip to the track over a two month period and some times i went backward but you have to try things to see what the car likes and doesnt .

Well, I just got back from the track and got 5 runs in and the tank is still pretty full! I guess I wasn 't filling it the whole way before

Any improvement on your times?

Well, it wasn't a good traction night for me but I got my best run yet in so far. Before with 104-94 ocatne mix and a 1.8 60' I manged a 13.1 @102. Last night with 94 Octane and Alky I got the best of 13.1@103 with a 1.9 60'. However, before the alky I could only run 18PSI and now I'm running over 20. I'm hoping for 12's next time.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A 12 WITH SOME TIRES..IVE GOT A 3200 STALL SO NEXT WEEK IM LEAVING AT 12PSI INSTEAD OF 1  ALKY IS THE BEST BY FAR..CAM2 IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND IT BURNS UP 02 SENSORS..NOT TO MENTION IM SEEING A 30 PSI IN THE FUTURE :eek:UH OH SOMEONE STOP ME :D
