Does anyone know where to get one, or rent one?

I'm looking for the c-clamp type, with the adapters. I guess I can use a pickle fork to remove it, but I'll still need this tool to press it back in the a-arm, (I don't want to remove the a-arm).

Does Pep Boys or Autozone rent these?

Thanks.

Pete

Our cars have a bolt in ball joint, its not pressed.Really the originals are riveted on. The rivet have to be cut off and they just fall out. Install new ones with bolts and nuts.

The lower ball joint is a press-in. I don't think you'll get it out with a pickle fork; you've got nothing to press against. I just replaced the ones in my lowers for the T-type; it took a press and a lot of force. It's only 2 more bolts plus the shock once the ball joint's out of the spindle...I would take 'em off.

Dang u are right Kendall, as usual:mad: I thought both were bolt ons.
