Any good tips on removing the coating on this trim. It seems like a rubberized coating. I tried aircraft stripper and it didn't work

Why remove it?

I sanded mine 320 grit - wiped it clean w/prep - shot it with self-etch primer - scuff w/400 grit - wiped - SEM Trim Black with a light and then a wet coat. DONE - good as new.

I also had a chrome version powder coated with a 40% black and you could not tell the difference - except in the pocket book.;)

Well it was coming off one end and believe me when it's like that it will not feather edge. Now I have to strip and recoat.

I just stripped my whole car with aircraft stripper and I touched a couple spots with it and it melted away within minutes.

painted it today.....looks great. That piece was the last trim piece that needed attention.
