Just bought an 86 GN. Previous Owner installed 1" UMI and Bilsteins. I want it a little more down - but not too aggressive. Thoughts?

UMI sells 2” lowering springs as well or you could go coilovers.
Yeah - I looked at the Coilover route as well! I'm just looking for a decent stance, with a little better ride quality. I know these Cars "are what they are" but I'm going to drive mine and enjoy it. Thanks for the input - much appreciated!!

For what it’s worth the standard regal front springs are 350 lb/in.
Regals with the touring package (GN’s, T-Type’s, Turbo T’s and the like) have 422 lb/in. front springs and 118 lb/in. rear springs.

The UMI Performance springs are 600 lb/in. front and 130 lb/in. rear.

I had ATR handling springs for a long time with Bilstein shocks and I thought the front was just a tad floaty.

By the wire diameter of the ATR front springs compared to the UMI springs I would say they were in the 525- 550 lb/in. range.

15” tires ride better than 16s, 17s and 18s. I didn’t notice any difference between 255/50VR16’s and 255- 285/40ZR17’s and am looking forward to 285-295/35ZR18’s.
Tires with a lower speed rating have a softer sidewall and will ride better.

I know ride comfort is subjective so I hope this helps.

There are quite a few posts about Moog springs and rates.
There’s one about a lighter set of springs and a heavier set. I believe they’re both 1” lower than stock.
Just search moog, there’s a lot of info.
This is the first one I saw with both sets of springs listed.

Here’s some general Gbody info too.

Merry Christmas.
