I did a search, didnt really get the answers I needed so I am asking here. I made $400 this weekend so I am removing my stock intake setup and going with the Big Mouth Cold Air and LS1 MAF. Question is, what exactly do I need to order. Obviously the LS1 MAF, what translator do I buy? As far as piping from the big mouth, the BM goes to 1 side of the MAF? then I buy the MAF pipe that goes from the outlet side of the MAF to the turbo inlet bell? Should I go with 3" pipes or 4" pippes. I will be upgrading to a lrger turbo in the next few months so I am thinking 4" piping. Is that possible with this combo?
TIA

When you order the big mouth kit from Mark, order his 3.5" mass air pipe kit too. That will connect it to the turbo without problems.Turbos with 4" inlets and 4" pipes are for mainly the guys not using a MAF.You will be OK with the 3.5" pipe as that is the size of the MAF anyway and it would be a bottleneck in a 4" system. The translator is for using the lt1/ls1 mafs and the translator + allows you to change the timing from the chip setting.Basically allowing you to run a street chip with low timing and then turn up the timing for race gas at the track without changing chips.

great, thanks for the info. I will be ordering my new stuff Wednesday.
BTW, I got the $400 (labor) for putting a set of lifters in a 97 Chevy truck.

Ive got a lt1 maf and translator for sale 175$ shipped if your interested,PM me.Thanks

Remember, the LT1 MAF is 3" in diameter and the LS1 MAF is 3.5" in diameter. If you're going to order the 3.5" MAF pipe, you might as well order the LS1 MAF. In other words, your air filter (assuming you have a K&N style cone filter, your MAF, your MAF pipe, and your turbo inlet bell all need to be connected in series. If they aren't all the same diameter, you'll need the appropriate reducer hose connectors.

Not sure about fit issues, but I would venture to say that unless you're really fast, you won't need bigger than 3.5" piping. You can go pretty fast with 3" piping and naturally, the 3" pipes being smaller will fit a lil' bit better and easier.

As for the LT1 or LS1 MAF, you'll need either the Translator or Translator Plus.
