Anyone ever suffer the effects of Lyme Disease? I was treated for it several years ago and am having another bout of symptoms again. Primarily neck stiffness, back pain and overall fatigue.

I know of a couple of people who's lives have been wrecked by it. Apparently there is a specialist in Bridgeport Connecticut that deals in Lyme Disease only. The doctor takes your blood and ships it out to California to a special lab where they check for certain bands.

I was treated with doxycycline a few years back and it seemed to treat it effectively. But I don't remember getting bit by another tick recently so I wonder if the bacteria has been dormant for a few years and resurfacing now?

Maybe that's what I have? I've had those same symptoms for years now but at least you are in good shape and a lot younger than me.

Mark if you check the websites on symptoms of Lyme they are quite vast. Many people go years not knowing what is wrong with them and misdiagnosed. A friend of mine went to 10 different doctors and all of them misdiagnosed her. One of the doctors recommended that she see a psychologist.

She eventually went to the doctor in Bpt. and he started her on a the correct meds and her life turned around.

Some people seem to have more Lyme bands then others. Some seem to be treated effectively with basic meds. Others need more attention.

The scary thing is this friend of mine took a Lyme test and it was negative. That was why they ruled it out as causing her problems. She ended up having a strain of Lyme that normal tests did not indicate. Almost killed her. She was 90 lbs. and grey like an alien.

I work with a guy,his wife has that and also bit by a rare spider at the same time in Wisconsin, see gets sores with magits growing under her skin, and open sores, well thats how he described it to me ,she has been all over the USA to find a cure,,maybe send me info on this DR...

My dog got diaganosted with Lyme disease 3 weeks ago. She's been on antibiotics and has responded excellently. Within 3 days she was walking and back to old self.
I know my brother-in-law had Lyme disease and was very sick. He said it like a really bad flu. He has recovered from it and I haven't heard him say he has any recourances of it.

my 17 year old daughter was just diagnosed with this. she had come down with bells palsy and half her face was paralized . this was well over a year ago and she was living with her trash mother and stepdick.as soon as she moved in with me called my docter, he told us to bring her in immediatly the next morning and tested her, bingo lymes disease. her mother let her go thru over a year with half her face paralized due to not bothering to check what causes these sympt. or her lameass doc not testing her. my doc tell's us that there's a good chance she'll now need surgery to repair the nerve damage. this is a very serious disease that can permanantly cripple you!

I think that you would be insane not to have a blood test every year to check for it, especially if you live near any wooded areas. I tested positive and then they did a better test and it came back negative.

I hope that you feel better.

My dad has had it and he also came down with Bells Palsy. Luckily in my area Lyme disease is previlent that the doctors basically check for that first. So they caught it in time and he's alright. I've never been checked for it and I probably should. I work outside and one of my hobbies is cutting firewood. If there's anyone who probably should have it its me.

Could be..
