FYI
Gotta give the people at Mark Williams a thumbs up on their products.
After snapping an axle I decided to do the MW Axles & c-clip eliminators...Spoke to them on the phone and felt comfortable with their product for my application.

The Axles are Nice, nothing really different appearance wise then other (aftermarket) ones. They also came with screw in studs and multiple bolt patterns.

The C-clip eliminator is a different story. From what I understand, most come with thin paper gaskets - the MW ones have No gaskets at all. It's all machined seats with O ring seals in all the right places...very nice design. The Bearing housing seals directly to the axle tube (not the backing plate) All in all, they look like they shouldn't leak. I did use some of the magical "good stuff" as some additional insurance

Instructions were clear and easy to understand. NOW, as long as they don't leak, I'll be thrilled.

How much did this set up cost. and whats the hp rating on the axles you bought.

Nice job Scott;) You must be launching the beast harder now. What are your 60 ft times now? Does this mean my stock axles will be breaking soon:D

jetmech - it was under $500.00...I wanna say $468.00 + shipping. I have no idea how much power they'll take...you could always call and ask. The axles have no taper at all so I would hope alot more than the stockers.

tim87tr - I've never launched the car hard before...always did easy launchs prior to this "incident". It was the last race day of the season so I figured WTF...spooled it up to only 5 lbs of boost and let're rip and - BANG, the axle broke. It was my first run of the day too...
60 fts are still slow...best run to date is 8.0 @ 95mph. All soft (idle) launches. I was trying for a new best all the way around...oh well, there's always next year.

By the way, it was NO fun seeing my wheel hanging a foot out of the wheel well (hence the c-clip eliminators now). Luckily, there was no damage other than a rubbed wheel opening trim piece. The axle snapped right at and into the spline - ugly ugly ugly.

This winter, I'm putting in a Moly cage as well....next year's gonna be FUN

I ordered the same set up,the axles are called masterline and they claim good to 9.9 1/4 mile.

FHW - the only advice I can give is to make sure you shape the top of the bearing housing to clear the backing plate. You'll understand when you dry fit it - there is a spot on the backing plate that won't let the bearing houseing lay completely flat. Most people beat the plate flat, I personally feel it's better to alter the bearing housing a little. It's nothing drastic and a grinder or file makes quick work of it.
Let me know how it goes.
