machine shop

Stopped in the machine shop today. They said my crank didn't need turning ,has some little scratches in it .They polished it,said it will be fine will standard bearings. I'm picking up this afternoon ,any advice ? small scratches still in it.

Just wanted to check. Lee thompson used this shop ,said they suck. I'd already taken my block and crank to them though. Hopefully their incompetence is sporatic,like my spelling.

I am curious as to WHY you had a machine shop even look at your crank - WTH is going on???

Also, ask the machine shop exactly how round the journals are and exactly how round and what are the dimensions of the mains? This will tell what the clearances will be and that will go a long way into determining what should be done with the crank, mains, and bearings.

What is going on with the rods?

Motor was knocking , pulled ,diassembled and took block and crank to machine shop. I haven't had the rods looked at yet. If he says they'll be fine for what you're doing again I'll choke him.
