Have an engine at the machine shop and here are some picture of the problems he is having. The rods are different than what the PISTON manufacturer says should be in there. I bought a piston and rod from Murphinator and his rod and mine do not match. My rod is .125 longer. Wrist pins are different size. I took a couple of pictures of the rods. The lower rod is what Murphinator sent me and it matches wrist pin size of the new pistons, the upper rod and left side is what came out of my motor.
I have taken a couple pictures of the block. Is this a L67 block? The cam that came out of the car says STAGE 1 written on it also.

series II 3800 stamp would be on any L67 or L36 - the only thing that I know of that should vary between an l67 and an L36 would be the pistons - this includes rwd applications is my understanding

l67 is 8.5 to 1 and coated l36 is 9.5 to 1 , uncoated and is thinner above the top ring.

everything I have apart in my garage is l67 so I am baffled but let me know if & what you need , I can surely get you out the rest of the rods to match what I sent you for short $$ if you need

I sure would like to know what cam out of this car. Longer rods but a deeper dish piston. Crown of piston is about the same measuring of off the wrist pin hole. Makes me think someone did a lot of work here and it would be nice to see what was going on and continue the enhancements instead of starting over again from scratch.

We found out that the rods in my engine are stock 3.8 Camaro rods. Getting new rods to go with new pistons.

sounds like your car was a "top swapped" car possibly - normally aspirated short block with sc heads upward , makes more power due to higher compression but more prone to knock without enough mods in place - a stock pulley is small if no mods are in place

Wich rod had the bigger wrist pin? Just curious, also are either of them the powdered metal rods?
